Portfolio review / tutorial with Richard Mulhern

As the deadlines are fast approaching, I asked Richard Mulhern to look over my project and help me to begin to work out what to do with my work going forward. Firstly, we laid out my images that I had pre-selected to work with, we then created a sequence with the images that worked. Once the images were laid out in a sequence it was easier to see why and how the images worked together, and from doing this it was easier to articulate the context of my project.

We concluded that my project would work best as a photobook, and that it would be best to pick two of my strongest images to show in the exhibition. Richard also offered his ideas and support on the layout and design of my photobook, showing me examples of similar work to inspire me.

After having Richard look through my project, I felt more confident with what I was doing, and with how to speak about my work, which led to me feeling less nervous for my portfolio review that I had in the afternoon with Tom Duffield.
