Growing my online presence as a photographer

Realising I had only months left at university I began thinking about how important it is to grow my online presence. The current brief for applied critical languages is about this, so what’s a better time to start?

I already had a Instagram account that I’ve been using as my photography portfolio, however it was outdated and bare. So firstly, I made it my mission to update this. Similarly, I had a LinkedIn account that I made back in college however it was basic and had nothing added to it, so again I updated this, added my university etc so that I am more relevant as a photographer online. Finally, one of the most important steps was building my website, this has allowed for me to share my work, document what I’m currently doing with my practice and be accessible online.

Growing my online presence has been an important step in me progressing from being a student to looking for a full-time career. It has made me think about what work I am proud to put out into the world and has allowed for me to share my work easily and clearly with future employers.
