Format festival 2023

I took a trip to Derby along with the university, to visit Format festival 2023. The exhibitions were spread out over different locations which made for an interesting adventure around the town. Out of the fifteen venues there was to offer, I visited five of them: Quad, Derby Cathedral, Derby city lab, Museum of making and Derbion.

With my final year exhibition in sight, It was valuable to see the variety of ways that people exhibit their work as I am yet to consider how I will show my own work. The exhibitions made me begin to think about the work I am producing, and how I want it to look when it is exhibited, such as how many images do I want to show? What size should I print at? What paper should I use? And how should my work be framed?

Overall, I would say that Format festival was worth the visit, I enjoyed the exhibitions that I got round to seeing, and it definitely left me thinking about how I can move forward with my final project.
